The Center for Applied Dynamics and Optimisation (CADO) is contained in the Deptartment of Mathematics and Statistics and was set up in 1994 by the Senate of the University as described in the official record.
Our task is to teach and conduct research in "modern applied mathematics", including applied dynamics, control theory and operations research. Our industrial links have included Rio Tinto, DSTO, CSIRO, Westinghouse Signals, and others.
The computer-aided maths teaching package Calmaeth and the state-of-the-art optimal control package Miser are CADO products.
